Why cultists killed student, shot principal in Delta school

Suspected cultists have reportely invaded Ogume Grammar School in Ndokwa West Local Government area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when irate cultists stormed the school and started shooting intermittently, killing one female student. The school principal was also shot.

It was learnt the cultists vandalized and damaged cars, ICT Centre, offices and other properties worth millions of naira in the school.

A source who pleaded annomity said the cultists came for reprisal attack against a rival cult group members, operating in the school, but in sighting them the rival group members escaped.

However, the reason why the female student was killed, destruction of property and shooting of the school principal is still sketchy at press time.

Source, said the wounded school principal is currently being treated in Kwale general hospital.

While reacting, the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu expressed dissatisfaction over the unfortunate incident.

The Commissioner instructed that the school be closed down for the safety of the students and teachers.

Meantime, she appealed to the community to help fetch out the perpetrators of the heinous Crime.
