Again, Group Accuses Isoko Tantita Coordinator of Underpayment, Slot Merging, Seeks Management Intervention
By Osaro Michael, Benin
The concerned sons and daughters of Isoko Kingdom for Good Governance have raised the alarm over what they described as “poor treatment” being meted out to Isoko youths engaged as staff of Tantita Security Services Limited.
The group is calling for an urgent investigation into the activities of the Coordinator representing the Isoko Axis, and called on the management of Tantita to prevail on the coordinator.
This was contained in a statement signed by the coordinator of the group, Gen Omogha Wilson Ajiri, which a copy was sent to news men on Tuesday.
According to the group, the Coordinator allegedly pays Isoko staff a flat ₦150,000 monthly for 30 days of work without feeding allowance. The group further alleged that two persons are being merged into one slot, a practice it described as “unacceptable to the Isoko people.”
“This development is already creating serious tension in the Isoko axis,” the statement read. “Our people have now become aware that Tantita pays more than ₦150,000 to staff working in other axes across the Niger Delta, and the Isoko axis cannot be treated differently.”
The group said it holds the management of Tantita Security Services Limited in high esteem and appreciates its contributions to security and youth employment in the region.
However, it warned that if the matter remains unresolved, the Isoko people will have no option but to embark on a peaceful protest against the Coordinator representing the Isoko Axis.
“We remain committed to the development of Isoko Nation and the larger Delta State,” the group stated.
However, efforts to reach the management of Tantita security Service Nigeria Limited for reaction proved abortive.
