The Youths of the Ogbe-Ijoh community have accused the Nigerian Navy of a reckless and barbaric invasion of the peaceful Ogbe-Ijoh community on Thursday evening.

The Navy reportedly invaded the Ogbe-Ijoh community following alleged internal fracas and shooting in the Aladja community.

The protesting youths said the Nigerian Navy NNS Delta are partisan and came to Ogbe-Ijoh with a premeditated mindset to cause havoc in the community.

The youths said they never attack the Aladja community on Thursday evening, noting that the rush to attack the Ogbe-Ijoh community by Nigerian Navy showed that their operations are lopsided.

The Ogbe-Ijoh youths argued that despite the Ogbe-Ijoh community suffering several unprovoked attacks from Aladja aggressors, there was no time the Navy went to attack or invaded the Aladja community for such incessant attacks against the Ogbe-Ijoh people.

They alleged that the Navy personnel was sent to come and burn the Ogbe-Ijoh community by suspected Urhobo leaders but was repelled by the prompt intervention of well-meaning stakeholders and leaders in the state.

The Ogbe-Ijoh Youth said the shooting caused serious pandemonium in the community as many children and aged people who scampered by the Navy’s aggressive attack had not been found.

They want the Navy personnel sent to the Ogbe-Ijoh community to cause havoc to be investigated and brought to book with all alacrity.

The protesting youths called on the governor of the state, Sheriff Oborevwori to be neutralised the communal war between the two communities and not to cause another full-blown ethnic war in Warri.
