A youth leader and president of the Ojobo Liberation Movement, Comrade Timipre Ndoni has condemned what he described as an attempt to replace the PIA committee and CLOs employed by the previous administration, with the new executives in the community.
According to a statement by the youth leader, he urged the community citizens to embrace peace, love, unity and fairness in governance.
He advised the present Ojobo community administration to focus on building unity and fairness which would lead to lasting peace in the community.
Reacting on the backdrop of the Amayanabo incident, the youth leader called on the current community administration to carry out a proper investigation before carrying out the arrest of suspected perpetrators to avoid victimizing innocent persons.
The activist stated that there should be no selective arrest and prosecution, adding that culprits from both factions in the community should be investigated and arrested.
He argued that the community leadership should stop moves to replace people employed by the previous administration, adding that such action would only create further acrimony and disunity in the community.
Ndoni admonished the current leadership of the community to swing into action in creating new job opportunities for the Indigenous Ojobo community and not for displaced people who are gainfully employed.
However, he cautioned the community leadership to forget about political affiliations in the community since elections are over and focus on the progress of the Ojobo community and its indigenes.
The statement further reads, “I condemn the planned replacement of Ojobo PIA committee, CLO Turbine Project and others in the community. This is a wrong move, it will never restore peace in the community.
“We should not beat the embers of disunity among ourselves. Ojobo Community being the host community in Beniseide flow station, supposed to employ as many youths, let us be wise. Look for more employment opportunities for other youths and don’t swap those who are already engaged.
“Let the current leadership of the community go after the houseboat contractors to create new job for the youths and women of the community. Do not plan evil attempt to swap the already established jobs occupied by the same community indigenes.
“We must stop this suffering and smiling syndrome, and we should be progressive in mind and stop pulling down ourselves”, he stressed.
