The Delta Ijaw Women for Peace and Culture (DIWPC) has expressed satisfaction with the efforts of Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) while condemning the blackmail by a faceless group under Warri Youth Council.

The group led by its national coordinator, Comrade Mesahrun Ejiro Stella countered claims by a pseudo group attempting to blackmail Dr Otuaro, reaffirming their support for his administration’s work.

The women emphasised that Itsekiris should be grateful to Ijaw and Dr Otuaro for additional presidential Amnesty slots given to them and the previous ones enjoyed after rejecting the Amnesty programme in 2009.

The DIWPC commended Dr. Otuaro’s dedication to the PAP’s objectives, maintaining peace and stability in Niger Delta, described Itsekiri to be mischief makers who only considered themselves more important than anybody.

The group rejected baseless allegations against Dr. Otuaro, describing them as blackmail, while reaffirming its support for Dr. Otuaro’s leadership and efforts to promote peace and development in the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta women echoed that the Itsekiri should make more of an appeal than unfounded attacks and claims, adding that they have no stake in the Amnesty programme, insisting that they were only enjoying privilege in the Amnesty programme and not a right.

They call on Olu of Itsekiri to call his subjects in order to avoid any possible clash with Ijaw youths for peddling false claims against their leaders.

However, the DIWPC’s statement highlights the importance of supporting credible leaders and initiatives that promote peace and development in the Niger Delta region. Their endorsement of Dr. Otuaro’s efforts underscore the need for collaborative efforts to address the region’s challenges.
