The Ijaw Women Rights’ Protection Forum, IWRPF, has made a passionate plea to the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori to address the alarming rise in insecurity within the state, especially Agbarho Community, Warri/Sapele and other hotspots.

The rights group said the increasing wave of kidnappings, abductions, and violence had left residents living in fear, disrupting the peace and tranquility once enjoyed by the people of the state.

The group in a statement signed by its national president Comrade Amogha Hilda emphasised the need for the government of the state to prioritize the safety and protection of its citizens.

Among other things, the group demands collaborative efforts of the government with security agencies and community leaders to tackle insecurity, deploys more security personnel to hotspots, Establishes a community-based security initiative and Provides support to victims’ families in the affected communities.

The statement read, “The people of Delta State deserve to feel safe and secure in their communities”.
Amogha said by working together, the government and residents can reclaim their state and ensure a brighter future for all.
