The People’s Democratic Party, PDP after eight months of massive defection of the governor Sheriff Oborevwori and party leadership, has finally inaugurated an 11-man caretaker committee to oversee the party activities for 90 days.

The caretaker committee chairman Prof. Sylvester Monye and other 10 executive members were inaugurated and were sworn in today February 5, 2026 in Asaba.

The ceremony recorded a massive crowd, compromising leaders, State party chairmen across the country and leaders and stakeholders from various wards in the 25 local government areas in Delta State.

The event aimed to formalize caretaker arrangements and chart a path for the PDP’s readiness ahead of forthcoming electoral contests.

The caretaker committee is expected to oversee party affairs across districts, coordinating campaigns, membership drives, and local governance engagement.

The event was officiated by Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, chairman PDP South South, who represented the national chairman of the party.
