Isoko Writes Oborevwori, Demands Revocation Of Ofagbe Road Contract
By Monday Peters, Abuja
Concerned sons and daughters of Isoko kingdom are calling on Delta State Governor Elder Sheriff Oborevwori to revoke the Ofagbe Road contract awarded to Dora Dan Resources Nigeria Limited, citing the contractor’s lack of capacity to deliver.
In a statement, Gen. Omogha Wilson Ajiri, Coordinator of the Concerned Sons and Daughters of Isoko Kingdom for Good Governance, urged the governor to re-award the contract to a more competent company, warning that failure to fix the road before the rainy season would cripple economic activities and exacerbate hardship in the kingdom.
The group emphasised that Isoko kingdom voted for Governor Sheriff in the 2023 election and expects tangible development, including road infrastructure, appointments, employment, and empowerment. “Isoko kingdom will not compromise development for anything,” the statement read. They demanded that the governor prioritizes Isoko’s development, asserting that the kingdom will no longer play a secondary role in Delta State politics.
The group’s statement highlighted the urgency of the situation, given the impending rainy season, and expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver. “We strongly believe you can do better for the Isoko kingdom,” they said.
