The Pere of Ogbolubiri Mein Kingdom, His Royal Majesty King Johnbull Polokowei, the Ogolu 1, on Saturday offered royal prayers and blessings to Mr Yingi Kerry, as the young politician formally informed the monarch of his aspiration to contest the Burutu North Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly in 2027.

Mr Kerry, accompanied by prominent leaders and members of the Seimbiri Youth Political Forum, visited the royal palace in Ogbolubiri to seek the monarch’s blessing ahead of his consultative tours across Burutu North.

In what witnesses described as an emotional moment, HRM Polokowei laid his royal hands on Mr Kerry and offered prayers for wisdom, protection, and electoral victory.

“Go, my son. The gods of our land and the waters of Forcados will go with you. Burutu North needs young, vibrant, and truthful leaders like you,” the monarch declared during the prayer session.

The Pere’s pronouncement drew cheers from youths and community leaders present, with many describing the royal blessing as a major boost for Kerry’s ambition.

Leader of the Seimbiri Youth Political Forum, Comr. Afore Ebimoboere, who led the delegation, said the group was elated by the monarch’s endorsement.

“Today is a day of joy for us in the Seimbiri Youth Political Forum and the entire Burutu North. In a moment that gave us goosebumps, the King laid his royal hands on his son, Kerry Yingi, and prayed for him,” Ebimoboere stated.

“When a father blesses his son before a journey, that journey will not fail. Burutu North, this is the sign we’ve been waiting for. The King has spoken. The people are ready. Kerry Yingi is the new chapter.”

Ebimoboere, in a statement signed on behalf of the Forum, thanked the Ogbolubiri Kingdom for the royal reception and urged the people of Burutu North to prepare for a new political era.

“To the Ogbolubiri Kingdom, we say thank you. To Burutu North, we say get ready. The royal blessing has been released. 2027 is Youth O’clock,” the statement read.

He added: “To God be the glory! Our principal, Mr. Yingi Kerry, led us on a visit to the palace of the Pere of Ogbolubiri Kingdom to formally inform His Royal Majesty of his aspiration to contest for the Burutu North House of Assembly seat in 2027.”

Mr. Yingi Kerry, a Political Science graduate, had earlier on Sunday declared his ambition before the Moni Seikemighan-led APC Executive Committee in Burutu LGA. His visit to the palace is part of ongoing consultations with traditional institutions and stakeholders across the constituency.

Ogbolubiri Kingdom is a key component of Burutu North Constituency, Political observers say royal blessings remain influential in the area’s electoral dynamics.

The Seimbiri Youth Political Forum has since adopted the hashtags #RoyalBlessing, #KerryYingi2027, #BurutuNorthNewDawn, and #OgbolubiriSpecial to drive Kerry’s campaign on social media.
