Governor Inuwa Yahaya Expresses Grief Over New Mile-3 Fatal Truck Accident

Gombe state governor Muhammadu Inuwa has expressed deep sadness over the tragic road traffic accident that occurred at New Mile-3 in Gombe involving a trailer truck loaded with bags of grains, which claimed four lives and left several others injured.

A statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs describes the incident as heartbreaking and unfortunate, particularly with the reported loss of a police officer and other victims in the crash, as well as destruction of public properties and goods.

It adds the governor extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya also sympathises with those who sustained injuries in the accident and prayed for their speedy recovery.

He commends the swift response of security operatives, emergency responders and relevant agencies currently managing the situation and conducting rescue and assessment operations at the scene.

While calling on motorists, especially drivers of heavy-duty vehicles, to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and safety measures, the Governor stresses the importance of responsible driving in preventing avoidable tragedies on the roads.
