Pro- Atiku/Okowa group holds inaugural meeting, canvasses for support in Edo

A new political group under the banner of Atiku/Okowa Democratic Movement has held its inaugural
meeting in Benin, Edo State, Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a statement shortly after the meeting by Hon. Godstime Ogidigba, Senior special assistant, waterways surveillance and security to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Sunday this week.

The group also held serious prayers for Atiku/Okowa to win in a landslide in the country’s presidential elections come 2023.

The statement read, “Sunday, 04/09/2022 was not just a great day, but historic as disciples of His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and Dr. Senator Ifeanyi Okowa under the banner of Atiku Democratic Movement held its inaugural meeting at presidential hall, Benin Motel Plaza, Benin City, Edo state.

It was learned that Ogidigba, Senior Special Assistant, Waterways Surveillance and Security to Governor Godwin Obaseki led a rigorous prayer section for the PDP presidential candidates at the commencement of the program on Sunday.

Meantime, the chairman of the Edo state chapter of the body, Hon. Lucky Omozikpia went down memory lane on how His Excellency Atiku Abubakar had come in championing a course of prosperity, unity, and a better life for all Nigerians over the years.

He appealed to each member to go out and make people see the reason why they should cast their votes for the Atiku/Okowa ticket, adding that it was the best combination to take Nigeria out of the total collapse APC-led government had plunged the nation into.

However, various speakers including the youth coordinator, and women leader also applauded the brave initiative. Also speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Delta state, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel expressed gratitude to the group for their patriotic steps taken to ensure his boss, His Excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa and His Excellency Atiku Abubakar won the 2023 presidential election.

The statement read, “I appeal and urge every member of the group to double their efforts in reaching out, especially to the youths because from INEC record youths dominate this year’s registration. Several strategies were mapped out on how to go about mobilizing for the success of the PDP presidential candidate come 2023.

“After all was said and done, merry-making and group pictures were taken. Without much ado, the gathering was a great success, which has served as an energizer for us to go out there and market our product, which is Atiku/Okowa ticket.

“l firmly believe that by God’s grace, success shall be our portion and Nigeria shall return to great path the country was, under PDP.”
