As 2023 general elections draw close, two-term lawmaker, representing Burutu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Julius G.Pondi has formally announced his readiness to contest for the seat for the third time.

The honourable member had received accolades of credible performance from kinsmen and constituents during the PDP gathering on Saturday, adding that there is no record in Burutu history of persons who had previously occupied the seat that would surpass his seven years record of representing the Burutu people.

The federal lawmaker, Pondi had on Saturday invited all PDP stakeholders in Burutu, including the party LGA structure which is led by Ebike Oromoni to announce his interest to run for the Burutu federal constituency seat for the third time in Warri, Delta state.

While making the declaration, the lawmaker appreciated the Burutu people for standing by him for the last seven years, stressing that his third term dream is to accomplish those remaining good works his had started.

His words:“I thank the Burutu people for being instrumental to my victory in the last two tenures. I sincerely thank you for your show of love and solidarity.

“In 2019, most of you were present in this same venue where I made my declaration. I thank you for your supports and hard works which actually gave us victory.

According to him, “I can’t say I’m the best representative, neither I’m not the worse of all. My records will speak for me if am the best or not.

Pondi emphasized that the law doesn’t stipulated that a lawmaker should only be voted for, in two times, adding there is no time limit and constraints.

He noted, “Though nobody has been there for more than two tenures in Burutu Federal Constituency, but the law doesn’t limit tenures for lawmakers.

“The question would be what has been my record as a representative for seven years. I can assure you that I’ve represented the people of Burutu very well even as a young man.

“I’ve come to inform the chairman and the party that having stayed for seven years at the Green Chambers, I’ve done my best, which I am very proud about.

“Burutu, a Federal Constituency with 77 communities is quiet a large one. I’ve not been able to cut across all communities, but I’ve be able to step my foot in all the 11wards in the constituency.

“Before I ask for another tenure, following this prove you have seen, I’ve not misused the previous tenures you’ve given to me, if you give me another tenure, I’ll do more than what I’ve shown to you.”
