Amos Gwamna Magaji, member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for a third term ahead of the 2027 general elections, emerging as the party’s consensus candidate after four aspirants stepped down.

The result was announced in Zonkwa, headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, following a peaceful and orderly APC House of Representatives primary election.

Declaring the outcome, Returning Officer Edward Pama said Magaji polled 1,876 votes to clinch the ticket. The Returning Officer noted that the exercise was conducted without incident, paving the way for a consensus outcome.

Four aspirants voluntarily withdrew from the race to support Magaji’s candidacy. The move cleared the path for his emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the constituency.

Speaking shortly after his declaration, Rt. Hon. Magaji expressed gratitude to Almighty God, party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him. He described his emergence not as a personal victory, but “a victory for unity, peace, and the collective progress of the constituency.”

The lawmaker commended the maturity, sacrifice, and statesmanship of his fellow aspirants who stepped aside. He listed them as Sylvester Anthony, Simon Katunku Gora, Bwans Gideon Kambai, Audu Maikori, and Nita Byack George.

Magaji said their decision to place the unity and peace of the constituency above personal ambition reflected true leadership and patriotism. He assured stakeholders that the project ahead belonged to everyone and pledged to uphold fairness, inclusiveness, and collective participation in the campaign and legislative work to come.

He extended special appreciation to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for his leadership, wisdom, and commitment to peace, fairness, and unity throughout the process. According to Magaji, Governor Sani’s leadership continues to inspire hope and confidence among the people of the state.

The lawmaker also thanked Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, members of the Consensus Committee, and APC State Chairman Atiku Sankey for ensuring a transparent and peaceful exercise.

Magaji further acknowledged the support of several party leaders and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the process. They include Sunday Marshall Katung, Larai Sylvia Ishaku, Bege Joseph, Emmanuel Kantiok, Samuel Kambai, Henry Marah, Abdulmalik Durunguwa, Joseph Thot, Esua Guga, and Naymarie Francesca Musa-Akande.

He also appreciated elders, youths, women groups, party faithful, supporters, and campaign teams across the constituency for their prayers, sacrifices, and unwavering support during the build-up to the primary.

Calling for unity after the primary, Magaji extended a hand of fellowship to supporters of all aspirants. He said the time had come for collective action toward the success of the APC and the development of the constituency.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to attracting more democratic dividends and development projects to Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency if re-elected. He said the focus going forward would be building a stronger, more united, and prosperous constituency where every community has a sense of belonging and every voice is heard.

Magaji urged the people to set aside all forms of division and embrace peace, unity, and togetherness, noting that “United we stand, divided we fall.”

“With unity, determination, and the support of our people, victory is assured by the grace of God,” he said.

He concluded by praying for God’s blessings upon Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
