Burutu North: Abadegbene hails Asupa on appeal court verdict

A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Coordinator of Delta Political Vanguard, (DPV) Burutu Local Government chapter, Chief Abadegbene Chadwick has felicitated Hon. Asupa Forteta for his appeal court election tribunal re-run victory.

This is according to a statement which he signed and a copy was sent to a Congress correspondent in Warri on Saturday.

Recall, the election petition tribunal sitting in Asaba following the application of the PDP assembly candidate, Hon.Asupa Foreta, nullified the election victory of the APC Delta State assembly member in Burutu North constituency, Hon. Alapala Ebitonmo and ordered a re-run.

However, the APC assembly member proceeded to appeal court to upturn the tribunal decision but unfortunately, the appeal court ruled in favour of the PDP candidate, upholding the tribunal judgement for a re-run.

Abadegbene said the appeal court decision was a reflection of the massive support the people of Burutu North gave to Asupa Foreta during the 2023 general election.

While hailing the appeal court judgement, Abadegbene said the verdict would further strengthen democracy and the rule of law in the country.

He appealed to Burutu North electorates to come out massively to vote for Hon. Asupa Foreta during the re-run election which may come up soon.
