Cultists kill 3 persons in Akwa Ibom

About three persons were killed by suspected cultist attack in Inen community of Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday.

According to source, the community last year flee following the prevalent attacks and killings of innocent people by cultists in the area.

The source said the cultists dispossessed victims on Tuesday before killing three persons in the community.

According to an eyewitness Johnson Akpakpan, the suspected cultists attacked one Mrs Choice Etuk, a victim in last year’s cult clash who was almost killed but rescued through the intervention of the governor’s wife Dr Martha Udom Emmanuel, adding that they succeeded in killing her stepson and others in the community be escaping to the mood.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Odiko Mcdon who confirmed the incident, explained that there are conflicting reports regarding the number of victims in the said incident.

“There is a conflicting report concerning the number of victims involved. But as a command, we have commenced an investigation to avert more killings. ”

“We are out to establish the cause of the incident. We are determined to ensure that the culprits are brought to book” he added.
