•Insists Omo-Age APC marginalizing Ijaws in the party

The Special Assistant to the governor of Delta state on political matters Comrade Ozobo Austin has condemned outrightly what he described as a campaign of calumny by the deputy senate president Chief Omo-Agege against the governor of Delta State, His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa while he was declaring his governorship ambition in Effurun, Delta state on Thursday.

The Deputy Senate President, Chief Omo-Agege had said during his declaration that Okowa only wants youths to ride Okada and tricycle in Delta state while people who are close to him are driving big jeeps.

The governor’s political aide said Okowa is the most youth-friendly governor Delta has ever had since 1999 to date, adding that Deltans won’t be persuaded with lies to support him.

The governor’s aide added that Okowa had appointed more youths into the state government compared to previous administrations in the state, asserting that the Omo-Age campaign of calumny is disregarded.

Ozobo said the Deputy Senate President who served as Commissioner for Special Duties and Secretary to the Delta State Government between 2005-2007 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, should tell Deltans how many youths did he empower, and how many industries did he influence while he was servicing the state.

The N- Delta advocate said it was PDP that brought him (Agege) to the limelight and it was shameful and disrespectful to castigate and bite the hands that fed him. Ozobo maintained that Okowa through the state skills and entrepreneurship programmes had empowered thousands of Deltans.

He insisted that Ijaws were been marginalized by Omo-Agege led APC in Delta state, adding that no Delta Ijaw was considered for any key appointment at the federal levels despite their strong support for the party.

The activist said if PDP did not have a plan for Delta youths, it meant Agege and others who were early members of the party failed to put down a workable plan for Delta youths, noting he lacked the power to condemn PDP being part of the problem in the state.

Again, he said Omo-Age was secretary to the Delta state government in the Ibori administration that looted Delta state to a stupor. He said Omo-Age who failed Deltans as one time Commissioner for Special Duties and Secretary to the Delta State Government between 2005-2007 was not qualified to rule Delta state as governor.

He said Omo-Aggie who is the current senate deputy president should tell Deltans how many jobs he had created for Delta youths, especially Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri and Anioma youths.

The SA noted: “Omo Agege can’t say he loves Ijaw people when he can’t facilitate the bill for the establishment of Nigeria Marine University, Okerenkoko, in the National Assembly.”

Ozobo, in a statement, urged Omo-Agege to apologize to His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the campaign of calumny against him and equally apologize to the Ijaw People in the state for marginalizing them in APC.
