Delta Board chairman, Agediga endorses IPF, promises massive support

The chairman of Delta State Scholarship/Busary Board, Ambassador Shedrack Agediga has thrown more weight on the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum when he played host to a delegation of the forum on Friday in his residence in Warri, Delta State.

The Ijaw leader commended the newly formed Ijaw news agency, describing it as a sustainable initiative.

Agediga is also the founder of Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF), and immediate past Executive Director of PRS, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

The delegation which was led by its national president Comrade Ozobo Austin briefed the Ijaw leader of the body’s aims and objectives, noting that distorted report against Ijaw and Niger Delta region were a big concern, henced the formation of the body.

IPF further seeked for areas of collaboration and partnership which to strengthen the relationship between the scholarship board and the group.

He preached on objectivity and balanced reportage while urging IPF members to approach their works with discernment, devoid of bias and sentiment.

The activist and political strategist also pledged his support towards achieving the council’s operational needs and goals.

He, however, described the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum, IPF to that of the Nigeria News Agency, NAN, adding that IPF had made significant positive impacts in propagating Ijaw and Niger Delta stories.

While expressing gratitude for his invaluable guidance and motivation, IPF’s Secretary, Comr. Tare, concluded the meeting on a note of appreciation.
