A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Delta-State-born development and environmental justice advocate Comrade (Chief) Mulade Sheriff has congratulated the PDP governorship candidate Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for being elected as governor in Delta State.

Mulade called on all contestants and candidates of Saturday’s March 18, 2023 governorship election to accept the outcome of the governorship result because he strongly believes it reflects the wishes of Deltans.

He equally urged other residents of the State to work with the governor-elect to achieve his MORE Agenda for Delta people. He described Rt. Hon. Oborevwori as a man of simplicity with grass-roots and community-based knowledge for development.

Chief Mulade who doubled as the Ibe-sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom urged other contestants to accept the result of the election, and appealed to every Deltan and other residents of the State to support and cooperate with Oborevwori as the Governor of Delta State.

He, however, charged the Governor-elect to run an all-inclusive government to sustain the existing peace in the State towards attracting an enviable development to the State, irrespective of ethnic, political and or religious affiliations.

“It is imperative to state that the elections as come and gone, now is the time to build bridges of reconciliation of all aggrieved members and contestants in the State, and to focus on good governance for a better Delta,” he added.

It would be recalled that INEC declared Oborevwori of the PDP as the winner as he scored a total of 360,234 votes in 21 LGAs to beat his closest rival, Omo-Agege of the APC, who scored 240,229 votes in 4 LGAs in the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state.
