The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has stated that achieving transparency and accountability in Nigeria is possible. He made this declaration during a courtesy visit from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) management staff, led by Chief Samuel Ogbuku.

Olukoyede expressed support for Ogbuku’s efforts to bring change to the NDDC, emphasizing the need for accountability, transparency, and integrity in the management of public finances. He urged public office holders to uphold these principles, knowing that they will be held accountable for their actions.

The EFCC chairman also stressed that only leaders with high morals should hold positions of trust, as the fight against corruption requires a strong moral compass. He assured that the EFCC will continue to work with determination and courage to build a system of accountability and transparency in Nigeria.

Ogbuku appreciated the EFCC’s recoveries on behalf of the NDDC, which have contributed to the development of the Delta region. He sought enhanced collaboration between the NDDC and EFCC, including technical support and training for NDDC staff.

Olukoyede assured the NDDC of the EFCC’s readiness to assist and work together to strengthen the NDDC’s systems and processes, taking it to the next level.
