The Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Delta state of security matters, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel has applauded his boss His excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa, DSS, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias, Tompolo and president Ijaw National Congress, INC, Prof Benjamin Okaba for their quick intervention for restoring peace among aggrieved ex-agitators of the presidential amnesty programme.

This was made available in a press statement signed by himself on Friday.

According to him: “There is a saying that if one does not know where he is coming from, it will be difficult for him to know where he is going.

“Last 5 months were so tasky and tensed for us in Delta State, with threat of break down of law and other by 3 phase ex- Militants for being short-changed and sidelined by successive administrators of the amnesty programme.

The statement reads: “Their last threat really took breath out of us in the security circle which was a move to block Patani end of East West road. It was at this point l reached out to High Chief Government Ekemupolo, alias, Tomololo and president of apex body of Ijaw nation, professor Ben Okaba to prevail on the ex- militants to give Delta State goverment a chance to open communication channel with Amnesty office, while DSS, Army and police were not left out in this frantic effort to stop the impending violence in the state.

“Though, they made series of demands, but the one l critically observed which is very important to them is the verification exercise, which has become conduit pipe through which some greedy generals are short-changing unprivileged beneficiaries.

“After several intervention of Governor Okowa, security agencies, Tompolo and INC president, the verification is now on, which is a good thing in the right direct direction. Hence, all hands must be on desk in making sure that this exercise come out successful.

“Col Dikkio deserved the support of all patriotic Niger Delta to drive this process to s logical conclusion, because lots of grandiose corruption are being exposed on daily basis, and these are things derailing the programme from achieving its set objectives. For example, how can pastor Ruben be smiling home with 400 slots every month end, which translates to several millions of Nigeria. This is fraud which l believe EFCC should call him for questioning.

“We can not be shouting marginalization by Northerns, and we do same denial to our people of what would have elevate their lives.

“This press release will not be complete if l fail to recognize the sweat and energy my brother Kemepade Alfred , head of re- integration of Amnesty for the verification to achieve its goal.

“This should serve as a lesson to our ex- agitators to always embrace dialogue and patient in their dealing with people at position of authority”, he asserted.
