Family postpones funeral rites of late Burutu LGA PDP women leader, Layagbe

The families of late Burutu LGA PDP women leader Mrs Helen Layagbe have announced the postponement of her funeral rites which to be held on February 9, 2024 following the three months mourning for the departed Paramount ruler HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-botu of Seimbiri Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

This was contained in a statement signed by Comrade New world Endoro, chairman burial committee and Mr Afore Theodore secretary burial committee on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the burial which would have been held on February 9, 2024 had been shifted for further date, to observe the three months mourning period declared by the traditional council of the Seimbiri kingdom.

The family appealed to the general public to bear with them, as they regret every inconvenience the postponement may caused the general public.

The family maintained that new funeral date would be announced at the end of the three months mourning period.

The statement reads, “This is to inform the general public that the burial rites of Burutu LGA PDP women leader, late madam Helen Layagbe has been postponed.

“The postponement is due to the three months mourning announcement following the death of our paramount ruler, His majesty Pere Charles Ayemi-botu.

“As custodians of the traditional institution.
We feel there is need for the postponement.
We are sincerely very sorry for every inconvenience this may cause you”, the statement added.
