Fatal boat crash kills pastor, couple, mother, others

Tragedy has struck Ogboinbiri community in Bayelsa state as fatal boat crash claimed the life of a 39 years old pastor, couple, mother and other two persons on Friday new year Eve.

The incident reportedly occurred when a speed boat containing the 39 years old pastor, husband, his mother and his sick wife, and two others collided with another oncoming speed boat at the Ogboinbiri river at 1:30am Friday Morning on 30th December,2021.

Congress gathered the deceased Pastor, was the General Overseer of the Supernatural Church of God located in the community.

It was learnt three others that died in the accident were identified as relatives husband, mother and a sick wife.

According to a source, one survivor had been rescued as local divers begun search for the corpses and other likely survivors.

The community source gave the name of the deceased persons as Augustine kieribo, Felix Azazi, Stephen Moses also known as kekere, Adibo kekere’s mother, Tou kekere’s wife and Pastor Salvation Degema.

Our source said the sick woman was admitted at the Cottage Hospital in Ogboinbiri but the hospital lacked oxygen which was needed to revive the lady from her coma state.

However, the hospital recommended that she should be taken to Federal Medical Center in Yenagoa for Oxygen and they were heading to Yenagoa when the incident occurred.

The Pastor who died in the unfortunate incident was reportely engaging in serious prayers for the sick lady, together with other relatives right in the boat while they were traveling to Yenagoa.
