Federal Government Soon To Commence Academic Activities At Police Academy Abeokuta

The Federal Government has Concluded plans to commence academic activities at the Southern Campus of Police Academy in Abeokuta as President Tinubu moves to reposition police operations through education.

Education Minister Dr Tunji Alausa during a meeting with the inspector General of Police says, upgrading the police academy and other police institutions nationwide is the president’s initiative to solving policing challenges and boosting national security.

Alausa directs the NUC to fast-track resource verification so the campus can admit its first students between September and November this year as he revealed plans to convert over 42 police colleges nationwide into monotechnics, with 5 to 6 accredited to run industry-relevant courses for police capacity building.

The IGP expresses the Force’s determination to bring courses that would impact directly on personnel and national security.
