Illegal Roadblock: IGP Nabs Police, Immigration Officers

Confusion, as the men of Nigeria police officers under the Inspector General of Police, IGP Special Squad nabbed some policemen alongside the operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service, along Badagry – Seme Expressway, during a raid on illegal checkpoints.

According to report, the IGP squad pursue and apprehended some police officers and other security agents, who mounted illegal checkpoints believed to have been created to extort motorists.

Recall, the Controller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, recently had a meeting to resolve free axis of Lagos – Abidjan illegal checkpoints.

It was reported that the raid would continue until bad eggs within the security operatives are completely removed and sanction.

However, the maritime stakeholders had commended the IGP for taking a bold step in cleansing of the axis and urged him to take the action to its logical conclusion.
