JUST IN: FG appoints Okoro as rector Orogun Federal Poly in Delta

The federal government of Nigeria on Monday appointed Dr. Duke Okoro as the pioneer Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.

The new school was initiated by Deputy Senate President, His Excellency, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the supporting bill was passed into law by the National Assembly and subsequently assented by President Muhammadu Buhari, Commander-in-chief of the Army Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The appointment letter was signed by the Honourable Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu on the 31st of January 2023.

It was gathered Okoro, was the Director of International Development, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State.

Okoro bagged a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the prestigious University of Benin in 2004. A Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN); Fellow Nigerian Environmental Society (FNES); Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON); Fellow Institute of Management Consultant (FIMC).

The newly appointed Rector, is also a Member, of the Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (MIPAN); a Member of the Chemical Profession of Alberta, Canada (PChem); Member of the Environmental Careers Organization, Canada (EP) amongst others.

He had published lots of articles in national and internationally indexed journals and has concluded over 80 technical environmental studies in IOCs and marginal field operators in the oil and gas sector. He is married with children.
