The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Labour Party, LP have knocked the presidency for rejecting the European Union’s final report on the February 25 presidential election.

According to the EU observers, they stated that the polls were faulty because of enduring systemic weakness.

Recall that Congress News had earlier reported how the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, challenged the outcome of the presidential election in a court of law.

However, a statement released on Sunday by the presidency refuted claims by the EU that the election which announced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was flawed, describing the report by the EU observers as a poorly done desk job.

According to Barry Andrew, the Chief Observer of the EU Election Observation, he maintained that the election exposed enduring systemic weakness and therefore signal a need for further legal and operational reform to enhance transparency.

However, Atiku Abubakar slammed the presidency for allegedly failing to understand that truth is constant.

Atiku stated that the 2023 polls showed that the outcome of the election was not a reflection of the will of Nigerians.

The Obi-Datti Campaign Council Chief Spokesperson, Yunusa Tanko, also disclosed that the EU mission downplayed what transpired in the February pool.

He stated that the electoral umpire, INEC is not truly independent as presumed.

Tanko asserted that the EU has tried enough by playing down the truth. What they did was an attempt to give a balanced report.
