OSUN: 22-year-old hunter kills Imam

Osun State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old hunter for allegedly killing a 78 year- old- Imam, Adegun Yusuf on Tuesday.

Olawale Olokode, the Commissioner of Police in the state stated that the suspect had confessed to have committed the crime, which he was claiming that he shot an antelope not knowing that somebody was there.

According to the police, the suspect get arrested on April 17, 2022, at about 11:30am, whereby somebody from the area in Ogbere Oloba, Ibadan, reported that his father was shot dead by an hunter whose name is Sulaiman Jimoh from Alaguntan Village the same village of the disease Adegun Yusuf, 78-year- old Imam.

The Police Spokesperson, said the so called suspect Sulaiman Jimoh was arrested and confessed to the ally crime which on is statement he said that he was on hunting expedition when he saw an antelope in the bush, after which he shot with is dane gun, thinking he as gotten an antelope but surprisingly getting there to pick up the antelope, he met a Imam, Adegun Yusuf lying on the ground.

Mr Olokode, said after the completion of the investigation, the suspect will be charged to court.
