Renowned Non-governmental Organisation, the Centre for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Crusade (CHURAC) has said that the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) under the administration of Chief Dennis Otuaro (PhD) is faultless and impactful.

The group noted that the Administrator of the Programme has not only shown capacity to pilot the affairs of such a rigorous office but had also displayed an uncommon leadership will that had earned him floodgates of applause from amongst the stakeholders in the Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued and signed by its Chairman Board of Trustees, Alaowei Cleric Ebikonbowei, Esq emphasised that Otuaro had displayed uncommon leadership and commitment towards improving lives of Niger Delta People.

The statement said, “Immediately he assumed office, Chief Dennis convened an historic stakeholders meeting in Warri, Delta State where the leadership from the various camps and the beneficiaries in their numbers had interfaced with him according to their phases. There was no one stakeholder that said he had issues in his or her camp that the Administrator didn’t address.

“Everybody knew that the Administrator had an interactive session with all the leaders in that stakeholders meeting. Even after the meeting, Chief Dennis Otuaro, in our findings, has opened his office doors to receive complaints pertaining to the management of the Programme and the security of the region.

“CHURAC made frantic inquiries to monitor the activities of the Programme. We’re glad to say that the Administrator has activated all the liaison offices across the region to promptly address concerns of the beneficiaries. Unlike before, people no longer travel to Abuja to get their complaints addressed.

“We are not surprised, if some persons decide to hide under the second phase of the warped #endbadgovernance# protest to ventilate their primordial ill-feelings against Chief Dennis Otuaro. Those faceless political pawns masquerading as ex-militants, threatening to join the incoming nationwide protest to protest against the Administrator of the PAP are only jostling to express a mischievous vendetta and an unbridled tirade that finds no logic.

“The Amnesty Programme is in three phases and all the phases get leadership that do interact with the Administrator. Where are these faceless ex-agitators belonging? Chief Dennis Otuaro cannot be cow by the ranting of fraudulent criminal elements who are trying miserably to clutch on the protest in order to display their warped invectives.

“We are not unaware that some criminal syndicates who were using one BVN to register some unknown beneficiaries in the Programme were smoked out by the previous administrators. Some of these fraudsters are even on the run from the prying eyes of the security agencies.

“There is no one person with genuine complaints that Chief Dennis Otuaro has not attended to or will not attend to. No doubt, the stewardship of this present Amnesty Administrator has brought the desired peace to the Niger Delta region.

“It’s a clear manifestation that today the people of the oil rich region are at peace with the Federal Government and this is attributable to the leadership charisma of Dr. Otuaro. What every sane person should do now is to applaud him and pray for him to finish stronger. President Tinubu made the right choice in Chief Dennis Otuaro for the Amnesty Programme.

“We believed that the purveyors of the planned protest against the Administrator of the PAP are some miscreants and street urchins who are becoming a tool in the hands of these identified fraudsters in the Programme to haul an unmerited jibe at Otuaro just to gain an undeserved attention. These so-called faceless ex-militants are paid to carry out a smear campaign against Otuaro, using that pseudo name “ex-militants” to whip up public sentiment.

“This is their stock in trade and we are unsurprised by their actions. We only appeal to the general public to disregard the threat. We use this medium to encourage Chief Dennis Otuaro to continue with his good works of addressing the concerns of the Niger Delta people. He should not be distracted by the ranting of the paid urchins, using the face of the ex-agitators as bait. All critical stakeholders including the beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme are solidly behind him”, the statement added.
