By Stephen Asaba-ase
The former deputy governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, paid tribute to Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark on his 97th birthday, acknowledging his contributions to enhancing the Ijaw identity and promoting justice, unity, and good governance in Nigeria.
Pillar of the Clark-Bekederemo Dynasty: Chief Clark is recognized for his relentless pursuit of a better Nigeria, building his family’s reputation in diverse endeavors and embodying the indomitable Ijaw spirit.
Detribalized pursuit of justice: Chief Clark has worked tirelessly for justice, regardless of tribe and tongue, and has committed to Nigeria’s unity, even sending his daughter to school in post-civil war Eastern Nigeria to promote trust and reconciliation.
Fearless leadership: Chief Clark has decried democratic infractions with fearless verve and made interventions for the nation’s peace and prosperity, escaping death multiple times due to his uncompromising leadership.
Good health and extended influence, Otuaro prayed for God’s continued blessings on Chief Dr. Clark.
