By Peters Monday, Abuja

Ex-agitators of the Third Phase of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), General John Tommy, leader of Gorilla camp, General Victor Mike, leader of Kemekokogha camp, General Ayakeme Ebikeseye, leader of Elephant camp, General Blessing Oroubiye, leader of Brabi Camp and General Gallant Awe, leader of Osowei camp both from Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on the the administrator of the presidential Amnesty programme, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro’s unbeatable leadership for reinvigorating and revamping the almost collapsing presidential Amnesty Programme.

The third phase leaders had commended Dr Otuaro for reinstating crucial programmes, including scholarships, foreign educational opportunities, and vocational training, while expressing gratitude for the recent Niger Delta stakeholders’ meeting in Warri, Delta State which brought together beneficiaries of the PAP.

The leaders also applauded Otuaro for reintroducing and overhauling the PACOSOL cooperative scheme, while pledging their support for his efforts to transform the programme and improve the lives of its beneficiaries.

However, the Third Phase leaders highlighted the challenges faced by the Third Phase, adding that despite their decision to accept the presidential Amnesty offer by handing over their multimillion naira weapons, they are suffering with one slot with just N65000.

The ex-agitators further said that their boys who surrender to the government with their arms now feel cheated, betrayed and now coming after their lives.

They said previous administrators of the programme despite several efforts failed to heed such calls and plea for an increase in the number of slots allocated to third phase leaders.

The leaders are confident that Dr. Dennis Otuaro, with his extensive experience and deep understanding of the Niger Delta emancipation struggle, will effectively address and resolve the challenges hindering the smooth implementation of the amnesty programme, bringing about transformative change and progress to the region.

The leaders of the third phase despite the challenges enumerated had reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Otuaro’s initiatives, promising to stand by him and provide necessary support to ensure the successful implementation of his programmes and policies for the benefit of the Niger Delta region.
