Police arrest 14 robbers, drug dealers in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected criminals as part of the efforts to rid the state of all forms of crimes and criminality.

The Command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made the disclosure in a statement issued on Thursday via his Facebook page.

It was gathered the arrests were made in clearance operations carried out by a team of Operation Restore Peace led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe.

The statement said dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, stolen and robbed property were recovered from the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Dauda, cautioned that anyone found in possession of any weapon or illicit drugs during the Ramadan fasting period and beyond will be arrested while also calling on all criminals to repent or leave the state completely or face the full wrath of the law.

“Rigorous patrol and raids of criminals’ hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the state, as the Command will sustain the tempo in ensuring the safety of lives and properties,” the Police PRO assured.
