Pro-Tinubu Ijaw Group Storms Warri, Warns campaigners of Nationwide Protest to steer clear
By Stephen Asaba-ase
A group of supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the Warri Urban Ijaw Autonomous Communities in Delta State has cautioned against the planned nationwide protest scheduled for Thursday.
The group, comprising men, women, and youth, gathered at the Chief Tunde Smooth playground in Warri to express their displeasure against the protest, which they described as politically motivated.
They emphasized that the Ijaws of Delta State are not in support of the protest and warned potential protesters to stay away from their territories.
The Warri Urban Ijaw Communities Chairmen Forum stated that there were no similar protests during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, suggesting that the current organizers might have sinister intentions.
The group appealed to Nigerian youths and the general public to exercise patience with President Tinubu, emphasizing that meaningful change often involves difficulties.
They expressed faith in the leadership of President Tinubu and the steps being taken to improve the situation in the country, citing the capable individuals around him, including High Chief Dennis Otuaro and Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
The group urged Nigerian youths to remain calm, avoid actions that could lead to further unrest, and support the government’s efforts to bring about positive change.
The statement was signed by nine community chairmen, including Adams Fullpower, Collins Kemefa, Emomotimi Julius, and others.
