Protesters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, gathered outside the residence of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, a former Governor of Rivers State. Although they did not gain entrance, their presence sparked concern from the Rivers State Police Command.

The police expressed worry that the protests were escalating into unacceptable dimensions, including extortion, harassment, destruction of property, and other heinous acts. The command urged protesters to remain peaceful and refrain from disrupting citizens’ movements or engaging in unlawful activities.

The police statement warned that they would act decisively to arrest and prosecute individuals who infringe on others’ rights or engage in criminal conduct under the guise of the protest. The command committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring residents’ safety during this period.
