Rivers Crisis: Wike vows not to support Fubara again in life time
By Stephen Asaba-ase
Nyesom Wike, Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has vowed never to support Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, in his political life again.
Wike’s reasons for this decision:
1. Fubara allegedly lied about Wike demanding N20 billion and N100 billion.
2. Fubara failed to acknowledge Wike’s role in his election victory.
3. Fubara disregarded presidential intervention and resubmission of the budget.
4. Fubara encouraged impunity by telling people to go to court.
Wike emphasized:
1. His loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari, who appointed him.
2. His commitment to equity, fairness, and justice.
3. His willingness to stand by his principles.
This public rift between Wike and Fubara highlights tensions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Rivers State politics.
