President Bola Tinubu is not his enemy, but rather his son, according to Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of the Yoruba sociocultural group Afenifere.

Adebanjo did point out that he doesn’t share Tinubu’s political views.

The Afenifere leader said that Tinubu was a kind young man who had never refused to do him a favour when he spoke at a function in Lagos on Tuesday.

Adebanjo made the observation that their views on national issues diverged.

“Everyone should be concerned about the unity and progress of this country,” he declared. Tell me nothing about any economic initiatives.

“Until you change this constitution, you go nowhere. And I urge you, I beseech you, anybody who is a nationalist, who loves this country today, particularly Bola Tinubu.

“I’m happy Professor Bolaji Akinyemi is here. You are Tinubu’s friend. I’m not his enemy. He is my son. The only difference is that we disagree politically.

“He is a loving young man. I have never asked for a favour that he has not given me. But the issue is, the question of Nigeria to be together.”
