This time, it’s real, many of Twitter’s high-profile users are loosing the blue verification tags.

Twitter Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk has shown mercy to Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari by refusing to remove his verification tag while he removed the verification tags of former Vice president, Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria president elect, Bola Tinubu, and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

A check by Congress news correspondent showed, Telsa owner had refused to spare Nigerian president elect, Bola Tinubu by removing his verification tag.

Twitter began to making good on its promise on Thursday, April 20 by removing the blue tag from accounts that don’t pay a monthly fee to keep them, after several false starts.

It was observed that Twitter had about over 200,000 verified users under the original blue check system.

Many of those on the verified list are mostly politicians, Journalists, Musicians, Athletes, Government organizations and Public figures.

The verification tags began disappearing from these high profiles on Thursday.

After Telsa executive officer bought Twitter for $44 billion in October, 2022, Musk had been trying to increase the micro blogging platform revenue.
