Days after Congress News reported an accident that occurred on the bridge by Ovia River in Edo state, a vehicle and its occupants again plunged into the river after a truck was said to have hit the vehicle that had slowed down to pass through the dilapidated bridge.

The incident occurred some minutes before the state deputy governor, Hon. Philip Shaibu arrived at the scene on an inspection visit to the place as a result of the last incident.

However, there is a conflicting report about the type of vehicle that plunged into the river. An eye witness stated that it is a Sienna Bus, while Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC stated that it was a Ford pickup.

It was reported that local divers have been funded and mobilized to find survivors inside the river.

FRSC Commander, Paul Okpe, affirmed that rescue efforts were ongoing and being coordinated by the corps members.
