The Concerned Sons and Daughters of Isoko Kingdom for Good Governance have issued a stern warning to the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, over the alleged marginalization of the Isoko ethnic nationality in the ₦400 billion 2026 budget.

In a press statement signed by Gen. Ajiri Wilson Omogha, the group acknowledged the governor’s efforts but expressed deep concern that no significant projects have been allocated to Isoko communities, leaving them feeling neglected and treated as second-class citizens. The group noted that the previous administration, led by Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, had concentrated development efforts in Delta North, particularly Asaba and its environs, leaving Delta Central and Delta South underdeveloped.

The statement urged Governor Oborevwori to prioritize Delta Central and Delta South, especially Isoko Kingdom, which has suffered prolonged neglect. “We wish to state clearly that Isoko Kingdom will no longer accept being sidelined or denied its rightful share of development,” the group warned.

The Isoko community had overwhelmingly supported Governor Oborevwori in the 2023 elections, and they expect reciprocation through provision of good roads, infrastructure, political appointments, employment opportunities, and empowerment programs. “We remain united in our demand for fairness, equity, and inclusive governance,” the statement read.

The group has threatened to withdraw its support if their demands are not met, emphasizing that “united we stand, and divided we fall”. The statement has sparked concerns about regional imbalance and marginalization in Delta State, highlighting the need for equitable distribution of resources and development projects.
