Ekweremadu: See personalities who attended the UK court

Following the hearing of Ekweremadu and his wife’s organ harvesting case in the United Kingdom, Nigeria has sent a High-powered delegation to the UK court to sympathize with them and work out a soft landing for them.

It would be recalled that Ekweremadu first appeared in the U.K court on June 23 and was arraigned after they were arrested by Met Police on June 21.

Among personalities who made up Nigeria’s high-powered delegation to the UK were, Former Senate President David Mark, whom Ekweremadu worked with; former senate minority leader, Eyinnanya Abaribe; former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; and Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Adamu Bulkachuwa, were all in court.

The case was heard on Thursday, where Ekweremadu’s counsel seeks for bail of the embattled couple but the application was turned down by the trial judge.

However, the court ruled in favour of Ekweremadu and his wife, adding that the organ donor is not 15 but 20 years old.

The court shortly after the ruling adjourned till August 4 for the continuation of a further hearing.
