Bill to establish federal college of fisheries in Isoko passes first reading

A bill sponsored by the Delta South senatorial district Senator, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, seeking for the establishment of Federal College of Fisheries and Aquatic Studies in Emede community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has passed first reading on Wednesday.

The lawmaker disclosed this in a post in his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He said, “This Federal College Bill, when passed into Law, holds several important benefits in advancing agriculture and aquaculture development in Nigeria. It shall play a pivotal role in advancing education, research, and development in the fisheries and aquatic sector, thereby benefiting the economy, environment, and Nigerian society as a whole.

Dear constituents,
In fulfilment of my obligation as a Lawmaker, yesterday, I sponsored the Bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Fisheries and Aquatic Studies, Emede, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State. The Bill passed through first reading as “Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria Act (Amendment) Bill 2023”

“This Federal College Bill, when passed into Law, holds several important benefits in advancing agriculture and aquaculture development in Nigeria. It shall play a pivotal role in advancing education, research, and development in the fisheries and aquatic sector, thereby benefiting the economy, environment, and Nigerian society as a whole.
