Burutu North Re-run: PDP campaign trail visits Ayakoromo ward 7, appeals for support

Following the upcoming re-run election between Hon.Asupa Forteta, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and Alapala Ebitonmo of the All Progressives Congress, APC, scheduled for February 3, 2024, the Burutu PDP campaign trail has stormed ward 7 Ayakoromo community on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the appeal court sitting in Lagos had ordered for rerun for unit 08, 09, 026 and 027 in Seimbiri ward 4 and Ayakoromo ward 7 for the seat of the Burutu North constituency,  Delta State House of Assembly.

It would be recalled that following the rerun order of the appellat court, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had slated the re-run election on February 3, 2024.

However, the Ayakoromo community received Asupa and Burutu leaders as they showed readiness to massively vote for Asupa Forteta in the forthcoming rerun election in unit 08 in the community.

Meanwhile, Asupa and Burutu leaders were overwhelmed with the community warmed hospitality and dogged support for the party and its candidate in the 2023 general election.

The party leadership appreciated the Ayakoromo ward 7 for the show of love, commitment and the continued support for the party in passed elections.

Speaking at the campaign, Asupa and Burutu leadership urged the electorate of the affected unit 08 to come out en mass to vote PDP candidate Asupa Foreta on February 3.

The various speakers and the community acknowledged that Ayakoromo ward 7 had been a PDP strong hole in the past and even now.

They listed several developmental strides of the PDP in the community including Ayakoromo bridge, several appointments, the town hall projects, solar lights, pavement road etc.

The people of Ward 7 affirmed that Asupa and PDP had done much in the community over the years, adding that even at Christmas and during various destructive floodings, Asupa always send relief aids to the community.

Meantime, several members of the All Progressives Congress, APC defected to the Peoples Democratic Party during the campaign, which witnessed burning of several brooms of the decampees.

However, Asupa Forteta was accompanied by RT. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu federal constituency, RT.Hon Funkekeme Solomon, Senior Special Adviser to the governor, Hon. Godknows Angele, commissioner for housing, Hon. Combolous Elisa, chairman Burutu LGA council, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, immediate past commissioner for oil and gas, Hon. Daniel Yingi, former member Delta State house of assembly, Georgina Evah, former PDP women leader, Delta State, Mrs Orouna, former Burutu LGA chairperson etc.

Others are,  Ebikeme Oromoni, PDP Burutu party Chairman, Hon. Richard Tuedon, former member civil service commission board, Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin, immediate past house of assembly member, Burutu South, Hon. Paul Kurugbe, former 2nd member SUBEB, Hon. Godwin Edumogiren, former Burutu PDP party Chairman, Hon. Comrade Ozobo Austin, Burutu LGA Chairmanship aspirant,  Koffi Amasuomo, PDP LGA chairmanship aspirant,  Hon. Otoro Ayabotu, councilor representing ward 7, Hon. Francis Bomiebi, aspirant Burutu Council Chairmanship, Sunny Perekeme, Secretary Burutu LGA.

The ward party exco, leaders and electorate of the affected units assured unwavering support for the PDP and Asupa,  adding that they would come out en mass to cast their united votes for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on the election day.
