The Federal Government has labelled allegations that prison guards were working with terrorists as treasonous.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, called such an accusation vile.

According to a reliable Source, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, had claimed that certain jail staff members were assisting Boko Haram militants in organizing their terrorist activities.

The minister declared, “It is reasonable as far as I am concerned,” during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels TV. You cannot have a position of authority in the government and you took an oath to uphold the integrity of our nation, which you have compromised by aiding and abetting terrorists. That will be abhorrent and disgusting.

“It is out of this world. It is not something I can even imagine in my head that an officer of the law will go as low as conniving with terrorists to attack the nation. That is a treasonable offence.

“That can never, under any guise or condition, be swept under the carpet. It is a serious allegation. Be rest assured that, in the interest of Nigerians, for somebody to undermine the security of this country, it is a reasonable thing.”
