The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off the nationwide strike, effective immediately.

This decision was made to allow for uninterrupted negotiations with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage. Festus Osifo, Chairman of TUC, confirmed the suspension on Tuesday.

According to reports, Labour leaders met with Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other government officials on Monday, resulting in a resolution that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to implementing a new minimum wage exceeding N60,000.
