JUST IN: Tantita makes more success, arrests massive vessel with stolen crude in Bayelsa

In a bid to rid-off the Niger Delta region of crude oil theft, the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has arrested another mother vessel weighing 3,000 tons with no fewer than 119 barrels of stolen crude oil.

Congress learnt that the security outfit made the massive success following a detailed operation embarked upon on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the Ekeni Sea, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to Gbaramatuvoice, the vessel, identified as MT KALI with IMO N0. 8782800, which was carrying a crew of 12 members along with 13 community workers was apprehended at about 12:25 am.

Our correspondent gathered that the vessel is currently held at Tantita Operational Base in Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State.
