Otuaro Partners Pentaglo To Fight Substance Abuse
By Stephen Asaba-ase
High Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro PhD, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), collaborated with Pentaglo Nig Limited, a Niger Delta-based organization, on September 5, 2024, to addressing the rising substance abuse among young people in the region.
The group which led by a humanitarian Mr. Seisingha Pondi (aka Soso), expressed concerns about the alarming rate of drug use among youths and sought PAP’s partnership in establishing a rehabilitation program to aid recovery and reintegration into society.
Dr. Otuaro commended the group’s initiative, aligning with PAP’s goals of rehabilitation and reintegration of young people involved in violent crimes. He emphasized the urgent need for collective action to address the growing substance abuse issue, which threatens the future of Nigeria’s youth.
The PAP Administrator assured the group of his office’s support in combating the juvenile drug culture, which has led to mental health issues and loss of purpose among young people. This partnership marks a significant step towards addressing the substance abuse epidemic in the Niger Delta region.
