PAP: Edo Ijaw Group Lambastes Alleged N’Delta Coalition Over Protests, Lauds Tinubu On Otuaro’s Appointment
By Stephen Asaba-ase
The Coalition of Edo riverine Communities has lambasted a faceless Coalition of civil society organization that has been parading itself on the streets of Abuja, protesting and seeking for public objection by calling on the Federal government to review Chief (Dr) Dennis Otuaro’s appointment as administrator the Presidential Amnesty programme.
According to a press statement issued and signed by its National President on behalf of the coalition Comr. Ipiteikumoh Godfrey Owei, Hon. Ezekiel Daniel, Spokesperson, Mr. Samuel Oroupa Secretary and Hon. Ayedi Ikiyokepere Sunny Publicity Secretary on 5th May 2024, said the Edo Riverine Communities Coalition joined the plethora of other progressive voices across Niger Delta to state unequivocally that enemies of the region should desist from the dastardly and inglorious acts of trying to pull Dr. Dennis Otuaro down.
The statement reads in part, “the majority of the people in Niger Delta know the quintessential qualities of Dr Dennis Otuaro in the job. He is a thorough breed and a product of this struggle for the rights of our people. A fine gentleman and leader of great repute. His credentials speak loudly for him and that’s why the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria deemed it fit to appoint him.
The Edo coalition stressed, “We make bold wearing the spirit of Izon to say that the self claim civil society organization is a non existing organization in the Niger Delta to begin to question or probe who should become our Amnesty administrator.
The angry Ijaw group admonished Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to douse off this unwarranted civil society organization protest, because, they are nothing but a stacks of puppets injected with some sort of opiums that were just carrying out the commands of their masters.
“This mischief makers are just trying to shake the polity of the country, planning to bring disunity, discord and acrimony among the Federal government and the region and they are everywhere on social media fanning all manner of falsehood and spurious claims trying to paint Dr Dennis in a bad light.
“These bunch of charlatans, ex-agitators’ leaders are very bitter in their mind trying to cause a polarisation in the Amnesty office, which arguably they had condensed to their Cocoa farm, now faced with the reality that is not going to be business as usual, now want to automatically put to a stop in the program, there by inventing various ways to curtail or circumvent their abuses and illegalities in the office.
“They are whipping up all forms of sentiments to divert attention and distract Dr Dennis from discharging his duties to the delight of Niger Deltans.
“We are strongly in solidarity with him as he discharges his duties.
The Ijaw group appealed to the Mr president, NSA, and the general public to disregard every move by these rogues to misinform the public and malign the person of Dr. Dennis Otuaro.
