PAP: No report of financial mismanagement against Otuaro – Bobo knocks alleged enemies
By Osaro Michael, Benin
A former Chairman of Phase Three Ex-agitators under the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Comrade Bobo Tonye, has debunked allegations of financial mismanagement against the Administrator of the Programme, Chief Dennis Otuaro.
According to him, the allegations were concocted by enemies of the Niger Delta who do not mean well for the region.
Tonye, popularly called Sir T, was reacting to a news publication accusing Otuaro of mismanaging PAP funds to the tune of N21 billion.
The report also alleged that Otuaro was behind the purported delay in the payment of monthly stipends to PAP delegates.
In a statement on Wednesday, Tonye described authors of the publication as faceless and mischievous.
“It is glaring that they are bent on pulling down Dr. Dennis Otuaro who is doing well as Amnesty Boss. However, they should get their facts right before going to the public,” he said.
He said, “there was no N3 billion left on the cooperative account set up by the General Ndiomu-led PAP. As the financial secretary of PACOSOL, I can categorically state that it was N1.4 billion that was left in the bank. Up till this moment, that money is untouched.”
Tonye, while calling on Niger Deltans and stakeholders to continue in their support for Otuaro, urged them not to pay attention to alleged conflict merchants who are bent on plunging the region back to its dark days
“It has become irritating the way delegates and stakeholders sponsor malicious publications to propagate lies against the PAP and its leadership. This pull-him-down syndrome will not move us as a people,” he explained.
