The Police Command of Taraba State on Friday, apprehended twenty suspected kidnappers who are terrorising the state.

Police while parading the suspects, at the command’s headquarters, in Jalingo, the state capital, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abdullahi Usman, said the suspects were arrested in various parts of the state.

It was reported that AK47 refile and live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

The suspects paraded by the command are, Buhari Ishaku, Sule Mohammed, Tsino Buns Majidadi, Emmanuel Danlami, Hassan Dan’asabe, Hussein Kasimu, Husseini Mohammed, and Usman Hassan.

Others are Haro Ibrahim, Abubakar Mohammed, Lawali Dogo, Gidai Ibrahim, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Okundu Godwin, Ikechukwu Emmanuel, and Ibrahim Babangida, among others.

He said, the suspects have confessed to the crime committed in the company of others now at large, adding that, no effort will be spared to ensure that the suspects at large are arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.

The decision of the command to launch a manhunt on the criminals hibernating in some identified hot spots within the state, he said, was necessitated by the public outcry over the activities of the criminal elements.

“The special Anti Kidnapping Unit and Special Striking Force attached to the government House have organized constant raids on the hideout of these hoodlums to have a crime-free society where law-abiding citizens would be allowed to go about their lawful business without fear of being molested or intimidated by any quarters.”

“The Commissioner enjoins good citizens of Taraba State to be law-abiding and also to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies to enable them discharge their constitutional mandate.”
