President Tinubu Speaks on Nationwide Protest

President Bola Tinubu has stated that he is not against the planned nationwide protest, but emphasizes the importance of peaceful demonstrations. This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance, Wale Edu, during a press briefing in Abuja.

 

Tinubu, a self-proclaimed democrat, believes in freedom of speech, human rights, and the rule of law. He acknowledged the current economic challenges, including high cost of living, but noted that the government is working to address these issues.

 

The Minister highlighted the administration’s achievements, including:

 

•Doubled revenue in Q1 2024 compared to 2023

• Growth in agriculture, industry, and service sectors

•Recovery from debt payment era

•Falling inflation rate

•Improved transportation costs through the CNG initiative

 

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, also appealed for patience and understanding from the protesters, assuring that the government is working towards economic prosperity and good governance.
