Stop Campaign of Calumny Against Tompolo – Gen. Ogidigba Tells Aggrieved Individuals

The National Chairman of Phase 3 of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Ogidigba Godstime Ogidigba, has warned those making negative remarks against High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo to immediately cease what he described as a social media campaign of calumny.

Speaking on the matter, Ogidigba described Tompolo as a respected leader and a prominent figure in the Ijaw nation who has worked tirelessly to advance the interests of the Ijaw people and project the Niger Delta region onto the global stage. He noted that Tompolo’s contributions to peace, development, and unity in the region should not be undermined through negative online publications.

The Amnesty Third Phase leader further stated that it wasn’t a wise approach to throw negative remarks at a man who had put in all he had to make Ijaw nation great.
He stressed that while disagreements and misunderstandings may arise, social media is not the appropriate platform for resolving such issues.

According to him, grievances should be addressed through established traditional and community leadership channels.
Ogidigba therefore urged those making derogatory statements to withdraw all negative publications against Tompolo, and present any concerns before the chiefs and leaders of the Ijaw nation for resolution.

He also cautioned against allowing external influences to create divisions within the Ijaw family, advising all parties to embrace wisdom, unity, and dialogue in resolving differences.
